Are you landing at Mohammed V airport in Casablanca with six, ten or fifteen people and a lot of bags? You can take many taxis. But one vehicle for the whole group is easier for the arrival and for the rest of the trip. The question is: do you need an 8-seater van or a minibus with 14 to 18 seats? This guide compares both options. We look at the number of people, the luggage, the driving licence and the budget.
Why book one vehicle for the group
- Everyone leaves together: no waiting and nobody gets lost between cars.
- Often cheaper per person than many taxis or many rental cars.
- You load the bags only once, and one person checks them.
- You keep the vehicle for day trips and for the return to the airport.
The 8-seater van: the right size for small groups
An 8-seater rental is good for most big families and small groups of friends. In our fleet, you can choose:
- Hyundai Staria, 8 seats, from 130 € per day: modern, large and comfortable.
- Renault Trafic Combi, 8 seats, from 150 € per day.
- Hyundai H1, 8 seats, from 190 € per day.
- Renault Trafic L2, 9 seats, from 110 € per day. It is a long version, so there is more space for bags.
- For 5 or 6 people, the Opel Vivaro Combi with 7 seats (95 € per day) or the Mercedes V-Class with 7 seats (140 € per day) is enough.
The big plus of a van is the licence. In Morocco, a category B licence covers vehicles with up to 9 seats (driver included) and up to 3.5 tonnes. So a person in your group can drive. The minibus: when you have more than 8 passengers
A vehicle with more than 9 seats needs a category D licence. This is why we rent our minibuses with a professional driver. Our minivan and minibus rental range includes:
- Fiat Ducato, 14 seats, from 120 € per day.
- Fiat Ducato Maxi, 16 seats, from 130 € per day.
- Mercedes Sprinter, 17 seats, from 180 € per day.
- Volkswagen Crafter, 18 seats, from 150 € per day.
Do you want to rent a 15-seater minibus? To be honest, we do not have a 15-seat model in our fleet. For a group of this size, the 16-seater minibus Fiat Ducato Maxi or the 17-seat Sprinter gives you a little extra space for hand bags. Other models may be possible on request. Just ask us.
The driver is part of our car rental with driver service. The driver meets you at the airport, takes you to your hotel and can also drive you on day trips.

Luggage: the point people forget
An airport transfer is not only about seats. Eight adults with one big suitcase each fill a van very fast. Some simple rules:
- Count the big suitcases and the hand bags, not only the people.
- If all seats are full, take a long version or a bigger vehicle.
- If you are not sure, a minibus with a few free seats is the most comfortable choice.
How to plan the transfer at Mohammed V airport

- your flight number and arrival time;
- the exact number of passengers, with children;
- the number of suitcases and any special bags;
- where you go: Casablanca, Rabat, Mohammedia or further.
For example, Casablanca to Marrakech is about 240 km. It takes about 2 hours 45 minutes on the toll motorway. If you land in Marrakech, Tangier or Agadir, we can deliver the vehicle there. Ask us for the details.
Van or minibus: our advice
- Up to 8 passengers with normal luggage: an 8 or 9-seat van, with or without a driver.
- 8 passengers with a lot of luggage: the Trafic L2 or a 14-seat minibus.
- 9 to 18 passengers: a minibus with a driver. Keep one or two free seats.
- More people: two vehicles, for example one minibus and one van.
Frequently asked questions
Can I drive a 14-seat minibus myself?

Which vehicle for 8 people with suitcases?
The 9-seat Renault Trafic L2 is a good choice. If everyone has a big suitcase, a 14-seat minibus with a driver is more comfortable.
Do you rent the Mercedes Vito or 15-seater minibuses?
No, these models are not in our fleet now. The closest options are the Mercedes V-Class, our 8 and 9-seat vans and our 14 and 16-seat minibuses. Other models may be possible on request.
