Rent a car in Rabat: the capital at your own speed

Rabat is home to the government, the ministries, the embassies and many international organisations. Every week, official groups, consultants and civil servants come here for work. It is also a pleasant city, green and well organised, between the Bouregreg river and the ocean. With a rental car, you can go from a ministry in Hay Riad to a meeting in Agdal quickly. Where can you get your car in Rabat?

Delivery is free everywhere in the city. These are the places where we give the keys most often:

  • Agdal, an area with universities, shops and many business hotels;
  • Hassan and the city centre, near the Hassan Tower, the Mohammed V Mausoleum and Avenue Mohammed V;
  • Hay Riad and Souissi, with many government offices, company head offices and diplomatic homes;
  • Rabat-Ville train station, in the centre, and Rabat-Agdal train station, with the high-speed train;
  • Rabat-Salé airport, about ten kilometres from the centre. We meet you at the arrivals exit;
  • Salé and the Bouregreg marina, on the other side of the river.

Driving in the capital

Rabat is calmer than Casablanca, but you must follow some rules:

  • Speed: 60 km/h in town, 100 km/h on roads, 120 km/h on motorways. There are many speed cameras on the big avenues and on the ring road.
  • Protected areas: near the Royal Palace, the ministries and some embassies, driving and stopping can be limited. Always follow the instructions of the police.
  • Rabat-Salé tram: it shares some avenues with cars and crosses the Hassan II bridge. Be careful at junctions.
  • Parking: you pay to park in Agdal and in the centre. There are public car parks near the station and the medina, and street guards in other places.
  • Roundabouts: there are many in the new areas. Slow down and follow the signs, because the priority rule changes from one junction to another.

Day trips from Rabat

  • Casablanca: about 90 km, one hour on the A1 motorway;
  • Skhirat and Bouznika: 30 to 40 km, for the beaches south of the capital;
  • Kenitra and Mehdia beach: about forty kilometres, 40 minutes;
  • Meknes and Volubilis: about 140 km to Meknes, 1 h 40 on the A2;
  • Fes: about 200 km, 2 h 30 on the motorway;
  • Moulay Bousselham: about 130 km, for its lagoon and its migrating birds.

The right vehicle for every job

Economy cars are perfect for daily trips in the city. Our compact and saloon cars are good for consultants and managers who have meetings and also drive to Casablanca. For an official group, a minivan or minibus lets everyone travel together. A car with a driver makes it easy to welcome official visitors or partners. Luxury cars are right for formal events, and SUVs and 4x4s are good for trips out of the city. For a mission of several months or a company project, long-term rental gives you a stable price. Prices start from 30 € per day.

Rental conditions

You must be at least 21 years old and have had a driving licence for at least 2 years. Drivers under 25 may pay an extra charge. We block a deposit on your bank card, and you return the car with the same fuel level as at the start. Delivery in Rabat is free.
